Sales Floor Lead (Full Time)
Definition:
Lifelong Thrift is a non-profit thrift store that raises funds for Lifelong, through selling donated goods and accepting monetary donations from the public.
Lifelong is the leading community health organization serving people with chronic diseases, including HIV/AIDS in Washington State.
Job Description:
The Lead is responsible for opening/closing the store, training, hiring, giving feedback to staff and volunteers, and working with the supervising team to develop and overseeing special projects as needed. Assist with the recruitment, scheduling, training, supervising/accountability, retention, and recognition of volunteers in the store. Above all, the Lead must support the mission of Lifelong and our commitment to our clients and community.
The Sales Floor Lead reports to the Assistant Manager.
This is a full time, non-exempt, regular position. All new hires will be subject to a probation period, that does not change the At-Will status of the employee for the duration of their employment.
Starts at $19.00/hour
Core Responsibilities:
· Train staff to work effectively and productively, and holds them accountable for following store policies
· Ensures each customer/donor receives outstanding customer service and has a positive shopping or donation experience
· Educates customers/donors, employees, and volunteers about the history, mission, and fundraising events of Lifelong
· Assist with conflict resolution among clients, customers, staff and volunteers per established procedures
· Opens/closes the store
· Gives feedback to staff on job performance. Delegates and follows up with tasks. Oversees register shifts and counts tills.
Maintains physical plant, monitors store safety and reports safety issues, and enforces store cleanliness policies.
· Oversees merchandising of goods and displays in the sore
· Creates daily work plans for staff and volunteer
· Regularly attends meetings
· Proactively addresses shoplifting concerns in the store, enforces shoplifting prevention protocol
· Enforces staff recognition and progressive disciplinary policies
· Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures

Qualifications:
· Possess at least a High School Diploma
· Two or more years of retail or resale experience
· Ability to pass background check
· Exhibits excellent customer service skills
· Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
· Possess and understanding of professional boundaries
· Proven ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
· Ability to respond quickly to change
· Ability to be standing or walking for up to 8 hours when on the sales floor
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively under stressful conditions
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and walk up and down stairs
· Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include evenings and weekends
· Ability to work with people from a diverse array of backgrounds and experiences.
· Knowledge of Lifelong’s history and mission
· Must own or have access to a working cell phone
